In the Syrian town of Serekaniye, Kurdish women in the YPG bravely battle ISIS to protect their community. These courageous women, part of an all-female military unit, trained to confront the enemy and defend their town. With control over vast territories and a population of 6 million, ISIS was the largest and most dangerous terrorist organization in the Middle East. Driven by a strong sense of equality, religious freedom, and democracy, the YPJ volunteers willingly separated from their families to fight for both land and freedom.
